Getting Started
Consultation
The first step in the neurofeedback process is to meet with our doctor for a consultation. Prior to this meeting you will be required to fill out a comprehensive checklist of information that will assist us during our evaluation process to determine if you are a good candidate for cognitive retraining via neurofeedback.
Quantitative Electroencephalogram
(QEEG or Brain Mapping)
The second step is the QEEG, also know as brain mapping.
A QEEG is a diagnostic tool that provides us with detailed information about brain functions. It differs from a traditional EEG in that it performs an extensive set of computerized statistical analyses on the collected raw EEG data. This provides an in depth look at what is happening at 19 points throughout the brain. The information derived from QEEG assessments allow us to pinpoint areas within the brain that aren't well regulated and target those areas during treatment sessions.

Training Sessions
The third step in the process is to start the training process. After the consultation and the QEEG has been evaluated, a training protocol is created and implemented. The key to successful training is to train abnormal brainwave activity towards a more normal balance, increasing or decreasing the power at various frequencies. The frequencies that we target, the specific locations on the scalp, the number of sessions as well as the length of sessions are all specific to the individual.
