"This place and the entire staff are amazing! They treat my son like a normal human being every time we are there. My son began to speak within 4 sessions and 4 months later he is non-stop talking. I will forever be grateful to this amazing team who believes in the potential of every child. 8 years I have waited to hear his voice and it is finally here! Thank you!"

"Both my daughter and I have had a wonderful experience at Restorative Neurofeedback. It has helped us immensely. We are both seeing big improvements including increased circulation in lower extremities, decreased fibromyalgia symptoms, improved memory and mental sharpness, quicker to respond verbally, and better overall mood. We love coming to neurofeedback and feel we are part of their family"

"Our son A is 7 years old and has down syndrome. When we first started the sessions our hope was to improve his speech. A was barely saying 100 words. Down syndrome is not necessarily connected with brain research but at this point we had nothing to lose! We have not regretted that decision. We cannot believe the difference in our son in such a short time. He is speaking in sentences and now is working on articulation. But it doesn't stop there! His fine and gross motor have greatly improved. A spends time involved in imaginary play and socially interacts more with peers. The staff is absolutely wonderful! They care about everyone and make you feel like part of the family. A loves coming every week. The therapy has opened so many doors for A that probably would not have been an option. We are grateful to be part of this exciting adventure and are enjoying the ride. We are not sure of the future but we know this therapy has made a new path for us to explore."

"I came upon Restorative Neurofeedback shortly after our son Noah turned 8. Diagnosed with “autism” but suffering a broad spectrum of co-morbid conditions such as bowel disease, mitochondrial dysfunction, severe food sensitivities and environmental allergies, I had become accustomed to tackling his many issues with gastroenterologists, neurologists, and geneticists all over the country. In the search for answers for his many medical conditions we traded vacations for medi-cations, as my 10 year old daughter Madeleine calls them.My husband and I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars and travelled between the coasts in the search for answers for his sleepless nights, all over body rashes and impulsive and injurious behavior. While his bowels healed, his rashes subsided and re-emerged, and his speech eventually emerged at the age of 6, his behavior remained a constant. On routine trips to a neighboring suburb for therapy, a short 17 mile drive, Noah would attempt to elope from the car several times. When he’d learned I could block him or would just pull the car over every time he did it, he began freeing himself from his seatbelt, pulling my hair and trying to undo the child safety locks. At one point, a therapist in our home, who was trying to help us achieve a “normal” life, admonished his older sister and younger brother for sitting under the kitchen table while they were doing their homework. My daughter looked at her with tears in her eyes and said, “where else would I be safe?” This was our life for several years. An ABA Therapist, whom I trusted immensely suggested I give Restorative Neurofeedback a try. In all honesty, I was at the lowest point since Noah’s diagnosis. While his sleep pattern had improved a bit, and his bowels were regulated, he was still uncontrollable. He could not sustain himself in a conventional classroom setting, and most of the therapy sessions that were conducted in our home ended with bloodied faces, scratches, and tears. While the violence would come and go, the screaming remained a constant. I had been cautioned by my mainstream medical doctors and specialists that gains were not sustainable and had never been scientifically proven. It was “charlatan science” at best, I was told, by one of the most prominent and respected physicians on our team. But, to date, Noah’s behaviors had not only failed to improve, they’d worsened! Our lives had become unlivable. My husband and I were at our wits end and had begun considering Risperdal and several other controversial medications in an effort to help us manage him and restore our quality of life. We were not sleeping, our children were not thriving, and Noah was not getting better. At our initial consultation, Dr. Carr was so sympathetic, but I could tell he was wondering if they could do anything for us. Noah was literally climbing the walls. As his associate Rachel Palmer explains, “He was not there, we just could not reach him.” We couldn’t. None of us could. His anxiety was off the charts. During our first one hour consultation, he cried and screamed the ENTIRE time. But, I was exhausted. If this worked out, I could sleep in their waiting room at least 3 hours a week while they tried to manage Noah. Getting the initial QeeG required the assistance of a senior level BCBA and took about an hour and a half. Having him sit for the first few sessions was a tearful, anxiety ridden and exhausting exercise for everyone involved. But, he started to use meaningful language that made sense after the first several visits. Sometimes, his speech was so clear I had to take a double take and make sure it was him speaking and not one of his siblings. While we had grown accustomed to his screaming and one word commands or requests, he began using sentences like, “That feels better.” “My tummy hurts. I ouchied my foot. I want chicken.” The screaming subsided a bit. While it was often a fight during those first two months, he was still able to sit for an entire 45 minute session! The greatest example of how far he has come took place on our first spring weekend about 4 months into his neurofeedback sessions. Noah is obsessed with fountains. The first warm day, when all the suburban fountains start flowing, he’d scream and tantrum until we took him to look at a fountain. Sometimes he would attempt to elope from the car if we drove by a fountain on someone’s personal property! We would explain over and over we could not touch or go near that fountain because it belonged to someone else, but he did not understand. This spring, I got in the car preparing to take him on his first fountain park trip. I was feeling a little hopeless, wondering how many more summers this would be our life. We have never taken a family vacation since he could walk because he always ran away from us and did not respond to his name. Will we ever take one? Will I just drive him around from fountain to fountain for the rest of my life? Is this what we will be doing when he is 40? I drove up to the park and the fountain was not on. I auto-locked the doors and that familiar sense of panic filled me. My voice tremored as I said, “Well buddy, bummer, it’s not on.” No screaming. No crying. No pulling my hair or taking off his seatbelt. He calmly looked out the window and said, “Hmmmm. Okay. Thanks for trying.” I looked back in shock and said, “Do you want to get out and play, or just go home?” “Just go home, mom.”We have a long way to go, but there is so much hope now that was not there before. He is getting better, our lives are improving, he wants to ENGAGE with his brother and sister for the first time in his life. He is social. The notes I receive from his teachers daily detail the incredible changes they have witnessed in his disposition and behavior. He WANTS to learn. He wants to PLAY!!! Such a far cry from when he would spin and hum and hurt himself and other! We are so grateful to Restorative Neurofeedback for all they have done for us. I am happy to speak personally to anyone who is interested in learning about neurofeedback and understanding the wonderful changes it has brought to our family."

"Neurofeedback is a great therapeutic opportunity for increased healing.Fourteen years ago, I suffered a hypoxic brain injury at 7-1/2 years old, losing all of my physical abilities and much of my mental processing speed. Early on, traditional physical and occupational therapies yielded noticeable improvements. While these methods were irreplaceable, the results felt excruciatingly slow.Recently, working with the team at Restorative Neurofeedback, I’ve had truly amazing results. Before neurofeedback, my poor processing speed made me feel as though I were living in an information fog. It was a grueling process to find words and to solve simple problems. After neurofeedback, my ability to process information drastically improved. Facts that I had trouble accessing are now suddenly easy to produce. Be it a name to match a face, or an answer to a simple question, now I can respond quickly and confidently in conversation. It’s as if neurofeedback taught my brain short-cuts to the information!Additionally, before neurofeedback I always felt tired—even after a full night of sleep! After neurofeedback training, I regularly sleep soundly and wake-up refreshed. My results are easy to attribute to four-channel Z-Score neurofeedback training as I have approached the treatment consistently and very aggressively. I like the way it makes me feel. The actual training sessions make me tired, but with each treatment I feel more alert with more clarity in my surroundings. It has made a world of difference for me in my college classes and in my social interactions.I am so thankful that I found this specialized therapy from Restorative Neurofeedback. Their personalized brain training has changed my life."

"Frustration, disappointment, anger, and confusion are all the emotions that a parent can experience when you have a child with neurological disorders. This is how I felt; I felt that my only choice was to medicate my child. I am totally against medication so I searched and searched until I found an alternative treatment that I was comfortable with for my child. I tried several gimmicks before I found Dr. Carr and Rachel’s Restorative Neurofeedback practice. I have tried the chiropractor doctors, the holistic doctors, and even other places that offered neurofeedback. However, none of these practices have had the commitment, care and support that you receive from Restorative Neurofeedback.I started my Journey with Restorative Neurofeedback back in August of 2014 after becoming frustrated from doing neurofeedback with another practice after 4 yrs. My son had experienced mild symptom relief but none like he has experienced with Restorative Neurofeedback. Rachel and Dr. Carr have gone above and beyond their roles as providers but they are more like advocates for me and my son. They have attended I.E.P meetings with us they have guided us toward other avenues to help make sure my son is as successful as possible. In August when we first started I got phone calls every day from the school. There were times I answered the phone and pretended like I was just too busy at work that I couldn’t even talk. If you are a parent and you can understand where I am coming from then you know you are almost at your breaking point and you need to do something. I was here now I am at a point of relaxation, phone calls have slowed down, behavior has decreased, and just recently grades are improving.
When we first started my son was 12 points behind where he should have been in his MAP assessment, today my son is 6 points ahead of where he should be. I contribute this to the diligence Rachel gives him when she is providing neurofeedback to my child. She just gets it. She is not afraid to continue to try new things. If one spot doesn’t work she reinvents the wheel and keeps trying. At the end of the day you want someone who takes an active role in your life and your child’s life.Restorative Neurofeedback is more than just a physician office, a gimmick, or a waste of time. Restorative Neurofeedback is family, a safe haven, a place that understands your needs, a new start in life. Restorative neurofeedback gave me a new life, a piece of mind and most importantly allowed me to reconnect with my son. Homework became easier, taking him out in public became easier and all the years of disconnect we missed because of frustration are now being reconnected. If you have done any research like I did at first I know one can be a bit skeptical, believe me I was there; however this is a new start in life for you and your family. Neurofeedback is not a fix all miracle worker if that is what you are looking for but it is a new beginning on life. Neurofeedback exercises the brain, all muscles in the body need exercise and with exercise you can see benefits. I see benefits and lifelong gains because of Restorative Neurofeedback."

"My 16 year old son started neurofeedback with Dr. Carr a few months ago. I knew from a very early age that my son learned differently than other kids. I always knew that there was something different but it was important to me to never make him feel different. He is a fraternal twin and I watched him struggle to keep up with his brother socially and in school throughout the years. He would spend two or three times the amount of time at the table doing homework than his brother and it was not for lack of trying. After I heard about neurofeedback I knew I wanted to see if a QEEG would confim what I suspected for years. After we did the evaluation and QEEG the results came back. Dr. Carr explained that my son's entire frontal area of the brain was "under aroused" basically it was sleepy and it needed to wake up. We spent the next few months doing sessions with Dr. Carr and my son transformed in front of my eyes. He went from working really hard for B's and C's to working the same as his brother for A's and B's. He was able to focus in school and understand what the teacher was saying. He no longer had to ask the same question 4 times to understand it, he could ask a question once now. The best part was watching my son "wake up". I never truly knew what was wrong with him but I knew something was wrong now it is a joy every day to see the changes happen in front of my eyes. He is turning into the young man I always knew he could be. "

"Our 9 year old son had recently developed socially embarrassing motor tics. In addition, he had been medicated for 3 years to treat his ADHD. The first doctor prescribed a sedative-like drug to calm the motor tics. We did not fill the prescription. We were introduced to neurofeedback by our pediatrician. She spoke highly of Dr. Carr and his team. She mentioned that although there is no cure for motor tics it would be worth it to just give neurofeedback a try. Desperate to help our child stop bobbing his head, blinking his eyes, moving his shoulders and flicking his wrists we made an appointment with Dr. Carr and his team. WOW! Wow is how we felt at our first visit. Everyone at Restorative Neurofeedback was kind, positive and willing to help my child. They believed in the possibilities of Neurofeedback. We've been going weekly for a few short months, As a result our son is now motor tic free! The motor tics are gone. He's happy again and is no longer embarrassed at school because kids stopped asking him "why are you moving your head like that" he is now a regular kid! Oh and did I mention that he is no longer medicated for ADHD? Neurofeedback also helped him focus and organize at school without needing his medication. Our son loves going to neurofeedback Miss Rachel is so kind and nurturing she makes him feel comfortable and happy Dr.Carr is the kindest man to offer an alternative non prescription treatment for brain therapy. Every parent deserves to see their suffering child transform into a happy kid. We are forever grateful to Restorative Neurofeedback. Everyone Knows someone who can benefit from this. At Restorative Neurofeedback you are treated like family. Everyone is 100% invested in helping. It's truly Remarkable!"

"I’m a believer!!!"
My son had suffered with motor and vocal tics for several months. His pediatrician told us that “It is just a phase” and the neurologist only wanted to put him on medication. Neither answers I found acceptable. Luckily, we met Dr. Carr and his team. I had no idea what neurofeedback was or how it could possibly help my son, but Dr. Carr and Rachel took the time to explain neurofeedback and exactly how it could help. I was skeptical at first, but willing to try anything! My son has been receiving treatment at Restorative Neurofeedback for 7 months and his tics are completely gone, and without the use of medications!
Don’t be a skeptic….be a believer!"Tina

I'm a mom of 6 year old twin boys. I always thought that they were developing just fine until they were 3 years old.I started to notice my one son was having meltdowns that would be set off by the littlest things. They would last 45 minutes or longer. He also was very afraid of walking up to and going inside big buildings and their shiny floors. At home he would hide under his bed telling me he was scared and sad. It broke my heart, I couldn't understand why he was so upset. The next year was an emotional roller coaster for him and I. His twin brother didn't react the same as him so I knew as a mom something wasn't quite right. So I took him to our family doctor where they had no idea what could be wrong. He seemed to meet all of his milestones since he was born. So I decided to start looking online for my own answers since I couldn't seem to get any from his doctor. I finally came to the assumption that maybe he had Asperger's Syndrome. But he didn't seem to have all the symptoms. Eventually I decided to take him to a child psychologist where they talked to my son and I and did some testing. They also said they could see where I thought he might have Asperger's Syndrome but he didn't seem to meet all of the criteria to have him be diagnosed as having that, he also was still very young. Over the summer I decided to get the boys tested for preschool screening through our school district. They decided that my one son would benefit from their early intervention program though our school district. It was quite a challenge during the school year to say the least. For the next school year the teachers decided that he would benefit from the Developmental Kindergarten program. The only problem was that he still had issues with the big open spaces. To say the least the beginning of the year was horrible for him and I. The teachers voiced he was getting so upset when they would go into the gym that he would visibly shake and start sweating. At my wits end I decided to go outside of the school district where I found a great social worker not only to help my son cope with his problems but to help me understand what was going on with him. As soon as she met my son for the first time and she observed him while we were talking she told mere had Sensory Processing Disorder. I had never heard of it before. From the research and talking to his social worker we decided that he would greatly benefit from Occupational Therapy to help him. From there one day my sisters co-worker mentioned to her about something else she thought might help my son called Neurofeedback. I was very interested to say the least, anything I could do to help my son be to his best potential I was willing to try. We took him to Restorative Neurofeedback where we met Dr. Carr and Rachel. When I first met them they were so nice and really explained everything about Neurofeedback to me. They really put me at ease and were great with my son. So he had an quantitative EEG where they agreed that he had anxiety and sensory issues. I can't put into words how much progress he has made and what it means to me. I have seen changes in him in such a short period of time, he is so happy and talkative to everyone. I heard him laugh for the first time after a few short weeks of doing neurofeedback. He talks to his brother and I shut off the TV to just sit and listen to them, he would have never done that before. His sensory problems aren't ruling his life anymore. He isn't afraid of big buildings and gyms and it has made his life so much easier for him.I can take him to a store without worrying that he is going to have a meltdown in public. I am eternally grateful to Dr. Carr and Rachel for everything that they have done for my son and our entire family.

Prior to coming to Restorative Neurofeedback, I had extreme pain due to migraines all day, everyday. I had severe photophobia and even with wearing a hat and sunglasses everyday it was still painful. I was experiencing seizure activity daily and couldn't drive due to vestibular issues and stimuli overload. I tried 19 medications in 1 year and nothing eased my pain. With doing neurofeedback for 9 months I have come off my preventative medication and have reduced my abortives. I can drive for 30 minutes and no longer need to wear a hat daily. The probe placements have relocated my pain to a more tolerable spot and have eliminated visual changes. I no longer show seizure activity on my EEG. I also suffer from depression, anxiety with panic attacks, and borderline personality disorder. Since coming to restorative neurofeedback, I have come off of my daily anxiety meds completely and have reduced my dosage of my mood stabilizers. I don't need to take my xanex for my panic attacks either. My mood feels the most stable its been since my diagnosis. It's pretty rare to not feel depressed when you suffer from chronic pain, and I think neurofeedback holds a huge part in that.

My 11 year old son Stephan is making great progress, his OCD is so much better , he has autism spectrum and we carry on very engaging conversations now, Thank God for a place that deals with all this and much more!Michelle W
Our autistic son, Luke, was 3 years old when we started Neurofeedback almost a year ago In that time, he has made significant improvements in many areas.
First and foremost, his sensory seeking has decreased drastically allowing him to be more comfortable in his own body and allowing his outside therapies to have more impact. He is more focused and now recognizes the world around him. His eye contact and recognition of the world has helped improve his communication and the sounds/words he tries to express. In addition, all of his improvements have allowed his fun personality to emerge.Melissa K
Working in the medical field its fabulous that Restorative Neurofeedback exists for so many children that are very special. The strides they have made are phenomenal and the children that come in at the beginning of their sessions, are different children by the middle of their sessions. Open your child's mind, you'll be fantastically surprised just how special they are and how much they can accomplish! Check them out, you will not be disappointed!
